November "Giving" at Mindful Movement
Please join us in collecting new blankets, socks, hats and gloves/mittens for PADS of Lake County. PADS provides emergency shelter, permanent supportive housing, and comprehensive resources to families with children and individuals experiencing homelessness in Lake County, Illinois.
Together we can accomplish our HEARTY HOLIDAY CHALLENGE to collect 100 hats, 100 pairs of mittens or gloves, 100 pairs of socks and 50 blankets!! These items should be new or only very gently used. Drop your items in the bins at Mindful Movement, 502 or 504 Old Elm Rd Highland Park for the entire month of November. |

Needle Felt an Incensed Ornament (taught by Ardath)
Wednesday, November 14th, 7-9pm - BeOptimal in Glenview
If you love the cozy feel of homemade and naturally scented holiday decorating, you’ll love these wool needle felting ornaments.
A short demonstration on technique will be followed by you making your own needle felted ornament pocket. Then you choose from lavender buds or peppermint leaves to stuff inside your new creation. A great holiday gift and craft lesson which gives you the skills to do-it-yourself at home.
The ornaments are made with the waterless technique of needle felting. They are made by repeatedly stabbing loose wool roving with a special needle. The needle felting needle has barbs on the shaft that cause the loose wool roving to ‘felt’ together to make a solid piece.
Choose between two options: Use Ardath’s tools and purchase only the wool roving(pre-spun wool), or choose to purchase your own needle felting kit to take with you. We will need to know if you will be attending at least 7 days prior (by November 7th) to class so that we have adequate supplies.
$40 includes supplies, $70 if you would like to take home a felting kit.
